This morning I decided to take Austin to "Toddler Time". It is from 9:30-11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays at a Rec Center. What they do is just throw a bunch of toddler toys out in the gym, close the gym off to the public, and let the kids play! They have all sorts of riding toys and slides and balls (pictures are with my phone camera so they aren't as clear). When he first got there, there was only one other kid, but after about 20 minutes, the gym was FULL. Austin did great for the most part. He got upset only a few times. He got mad when another kid got into a car before him, he got hurt after falling on his face trying to ride a scooter, and then tripped on the slide ladder and bumped his lip...all minor happenings. He did get tired though, and was very ready leave after about 45 minutes. He let me know this by just pushing the gym door open and walking out while waving bye-bye. I had to grab the bag and run after him! Once again, we headed home and Austin was SO tired. But, just like yesterday, the kid fought the nap again for a good hour. I actually had to go in there and get really short with him. He finally fell asleep and about an hour and 15 minutes later, the phone company rang our doorbell, the dogs went nuts, and nap time was officially over. They came in and installed another phone jack in the dining room/playroom. We plan to move the computer in there to clear out the extra bedroom. On another note, Austin has made two huge water messes today. The first one happened when I was in the bathroom putting on my makeup this morning. He usually will turn on the bathtub water and just play in the flow of water by flicking it with his fingers...it is completely harmless and I could care less. Well, today he decided to funnel the water with his hands onto the bathroom floor. Within 5 seconds, everything was soaked. Later today, he climbed up in the kitchen chair and dumped my full glass of water onto himself and all over the floor. He does this in the bathtub, but I guess decided to experiment with it today outside of the tub.
