Happy Birthday Austin! I can't believe my kid is 3 years old. Wow it goes by fast. Austin was so excited to hear us say happy birthday to him this morning. I had been telling him for a few days that it was coming, and he was pumped that today was the day! Scott took off this morning and we stayed home, had breakfast, and then brought out Austin's presents. He was so excited that he didn't know what to do. He would open one present and then want to play with it RIGHT AWAY. It took a lot of convincing to get him to continue to open his next present. Cody just wanted to eat all the wrapping paper. Cody is still the same...congested, runny nose, and today he ran a 100 all day long. Ugh. The good thing is that he is still sleeping well. We stayed home almost all day today. It was rainy and cold. Jinni came over to bring Austin his birthday presents and he was so happy to see her. She got him the Memory game, and two really cool books. At about 4pm, we all ventured out to Target because we had nothing in our fridge. NOTHING. I had not been able to go to the store all week, and was too tired to go after Scott got home . I don't like it when Scott goes to the store for us because he comes home with the craziest stuff, and has trouble finding half the things on the list. Scott is ok to go for small lists, but the big lists have to be left up to me, and this was a BIG list. Anyway, Jinni was with me so she helped out a TON. Scott got home a little earlier and made pancakes (Austin's request) for dinner. The Howards came over and brought Austin's present--a fighter jet that talks, plays "Top Gun" type music, has missiles and lights up like crazy, and that's just SOME of the things it does...it was an instant hit! We just finished the night time battle at about 9:30. Scott took his pacifier away (he's only allowed to have it when he sleeps) and THAT did it. He was so upset that he stayed in bed and earned his paci back, never to venture out again! UGH! It was a great day though, and tomorrow is his actual birthday party. We are having it at McDonald's at 5pm. I decided after last year that I would NEVER have another party at the house again. All the preparing, buying stuff, setting up, cleaning, blah blah blah, it is TOO stressful. I'd rather go somewhere else where they provide everything, and then leave and not have to clean anything up! HA! I couldn't pass up at $68 deal that includes: 10 happy meals, party favors, reserved seating, cake, ice cream, and hostess for an hour that does everything you need! Better yet, is the indoor playground (suitable for December birthdays when it's freezing outside) that the kids can go NUTS on!
