On Saturday morning, we woke up to rainy weather and rough water! It was a perfect day to leave! I stayed up late the night before to do laundry and pack. We were on the road at 10am. I was tired, and disappointed that I would be coming home tired instead of rested, BUT we had planned to stop halfway again and stay the night, so I THOUGHT that I was going to be able to go to bed early. Well, about 2 hours into our 13 hour drive, Scott decided that we were not stopping, and made it his personal mission to get home. I kind of thought the idea was crazy, considering we have 3 little boys, and none of them act very well after bedtime, but he was determined. After stopping once for lunch, twice for Austin to pee, and once for dinner in Tyler, Texas at Cracker Barrel, we made it home at 11pm! The dinner at Cracker Barrel was a nightmare, mostly because the kids had been in the car for 9 hours and it was 8pm-which is their bedtime. We got home and they were all crashed. We pretty much gave them baths and had them in bed within 15 minutes. All of them practically slept through their baths! Sunday, despite going to bed at 11pm, Tyler was up at 6:30, Austin at 7:30 and Cody at 8:30...that's how the Cross boys roll. Scott mowed the lawn Sunday morning. Tyler took a nap from 11-3, the other boys REFUSED to take a nap (what?!), and I took Tyler to the store. All 3 boys were in bed by 6:30. This morning, Scott called to tell me that a tropical storm had passed through Destin...I think it is considered a hurricane (Hurricane Bill) right now...what perfect timing we had! Cody got up at 7am, but Tyler and Austin slept until almost 9am!!! We went this morning to get me some jogging shoes. I had been jogging in a pair of shoes that I have had for years, and my feet were killing me. I went to "The Runner" store and ended up with a pair of Saucony shoes. They had me walk around, stand on one foot, etc. to fit me. It was pretty cool. The shoes feel great, and what even shocked me more is they had them in an 11.5 for me! I NEVER find shoes in my size! I plan on getting back to jogging now. I have not done it since the first week in July when Scott was home. That is enough of that (7 more pounds later). Anywho, the team is coming over tomorrow night, and besides that, and Rachel and the boys coming over Thursday for dinner (Marte has started football season) we don't have anything this week!
